Join us at a briefing, workshop or media training

We’ve spent the past eight months researching the most persuasive messages to build widespread support for transformative policy change that centres First Nations-led expertise and solutions, including how to build public momentum and political will for more ambitious change both now and beyond the referendum.

We’re now offering briefings to share the outcome of the research, as well as media trainings to build the skills of community spokespeople to speak in the media on First Nations issues.

Come along to a free two-hour media training workshop, designed by and for First Nations advocates and community members. Build your confidence and skills in telling your story, speaking up on issues that affect your community and learn how to engage with media such as radio, newspaper and television to shift the narrative and win campaigns for First Nations justice.

The workshop is based on the principles from the Passing the Message Stick. As a part of the training, we will share insights on the latest messaging research.

Who should come along? Workshops are designed for and by First Nations advocates, activists, leaders and campaigners to use our strength in storytelling to learn more about using the media to campaign for change, in a supportive environment.

What you’ll learn? You’ll learn the practical skills you need to tell your story, speak up on issues that impact your community, engage with journalists, use strong messages and do media interviews. In the workshop you will find out more about:
